Taking Academic coursework through the ProArts Consortium
SMFA undergraduate students are able to register for academic coursework through the ProArts Consortium. These courses are taken free of charge and will be posted to the transcripts at SMFA & Tufts as transfer credit. Below is important information regarding policy & procedure regarding academic ProArts registration. - Students must be enrolled full-time (enrolled in 12 credits or more) in order to register for an academic course through the ProArts.
- If approved, the academic course will not factor into the total credit load for the semester, these courses will eventually be posted to the transcript at Tufts as transfer credit. The grades from these courses will not appear on the academic transcript and will not factor into the GPA at Tufts.
- Students must receive a C- or better in order to earn credit for the course.
- Students must be within the allowable transfer credit load (7 courses can be transferred into academic requirements total).
- Courses must be pre-approved by Susan Lush before enrolling.
- Students will not be charged for academic courses taken through ProArts. Financial Aid awards may not be applied toward these courses.
- There is a limit of one academic course per semester.
- English 1 or 2 are not available through ProArts.
The Registration Process for ProArts Academic Courses:
- Make course selections from the ProArts website: www.proarts.org
- See Susan Lush with all course information for registration approval
- Take signed ProArts registration form to visiting school to register
- Return completed ProArts registration form to Susan Lush
